Course Introduction

Within a manufacturing environment, the skills involved in planning and controlling a complex operation are often taken for granted. The reality is that many first line personnel involved in manufacturing do not fully understand the issues involved in running a manufacturing operation. This course consists of a factory simulation within which trainees practice the principles of factory planning, scheduling and control. It allows participants to understand some of the issues involved in trying to run an effective operation which both provides good customer service and sound financial performance.

Course Objectives

  • To provide trainees with an understanding of running a factory operation
  • To give practice in using techniques of planning, scheduling and control

Target Audience

Personnel who are new to first line supervision in a manufacturing environment.

Personnel who are acting in a supporting role to manufacturing management, or those who are likely to be promoted into such a role.
